How to revive timber screen?

I installed several of the lattice makers oriental mahogany timber screens above my fence line and they have faded a lot. How can I get them looking good again, cost effectively and without taking them down? I don’t need the mahogany colour back and don’t want to paint them with any coloured oils, but is there some kind of oil that could work?

Re: How to treat timber screen

Hi @Slm,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

Do you have any photos of your timber screens that you can share? It is much easier to give specific advice when we can see what you are working with. Let me know if you need a hand uploading images. I am happy to help if required.

If they have simply faded from being in the sun, you should be able to simply give them a clean with some Cabot's Deck Clean, then apply a clear oil such as Intergrain Clear Nature's Timber Oil. This is a clear oil that will bring out and enhance the natural colour of the timber.

Assuming there is no physical damage to the screens, this should bring them back to their former glory.

If there was anything about this plan that you don't think would work, please let me know so I can assist further.

Jacob
