New deck to cover broken porch tiles

New deck to cover broken porch tiles

The weekend I moved in, something heavy was dropped on the tiles of my front porch, breaking one and leaving a few loose. I decided to build Merbau decking over the top and I could not be happier with the result. Took me 6 hours and cost $250. Not bad for a girl who has never used power tools before!

Next project will be to build a cover for the hose and then the gas meter.

Thanks Rob! It was great to figure it all out and watch the job unfold. I’m so glad I did it myself. A lot of satisfaction!

Looks Great. I have no front patio. It is a patch of dirt. Can't decide on concrete or deck. Either way I'll need to dig out to keep it below weep holes. Just concerned about timber near the ground and house attracting termites.

Wow, From a Broken tile to an Amazing Entrance. Really has changed the whole look of the front area. Fantastic finished product though 👌

Might try that myself now. Thanks for the Inspiration

Wow, it looks awesome!

What kind of wood did you use?

I would like to replace our porch too but not sure where to start...

Your advice will definitely help me out 😁
