How to install window flyscreen?

Hi everyone,

I just finished spray painti g the window frames and window. Bur now I am struggli g to out back this flyscreen back. No problem taking it out but could not figure out how to put back. I tried all the hacks available online.

Your flyscreen doubles as a security mesh and can only put back through the same area where you managed to get it out. Does your flyscreen have wheels? If they do, they will need to be pushed in as you swing the flyscreen back into position into the rail. I suggest looking carefully at the alignment of the flyscreen to the aluminium rails and you should see a section where there is enough space to swing the flyscreen back into position.

mmmmm I would think if you reveresed the way you took out the flyscreen (including if the window was closed or open) It really should go back in. I wouldntthink spraypainting would add that much to the window to stop the flyscreen from fitting.

Maybe write down the steps as you remember doing them and then go and follow the steps? It may prompt you for finding that missing bit that you have.

That is a Crimsafe window security screen and is that the only window fitted with one?

If that's the case you have a very unusual setup (can't check how one of the others is fitted) so I suggest contacting Crimsafe for assistance and/or visit one of the Crimsafe Suppliers.

Hi @anishkc 

Screens with additional aluminium framing typically is inserted first into the top track and push in hard as you then push in the lower part of the frame. So, up first, push forward in and down.

Refitting flyscreens can be a real worry as nobody has come up with a simple system universal across the range. It can be very stressful not to kink the frames!
