Thanks Mitchell. It is definitely plastic.Underneath I can see a couple of little slots. I wonder if those are the 'clips'.

Hi We have a old towel rail that has broken and needs replacing but I don't know how to remove it. Could anyone please help? Thanks

Hi @Cath5 and @twocutekelpies, I suggest you're right. A flat-head screwdriver should be inserted in the slot I've marked below and levered slightly ...
