How to change washing machine drain pipe?
Hey! Trying to remove our old laundry sink and replace with a storage cupboard. Is it possible to cut the grey pipe shorter and put the washing machine hose in there and seal it somehow? Thanks for the help!

Re: How to change washing machine drain pipe
Hello @Rianna24
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about replacing your cabinet and moving the position of your washing machine drain hose.
It will be necessary to have a trap to prevent sewer smells travelling back into your washing machine. It's also possible to move the trap so that it is out of the way. Since this involves plumbing work, it will be necessary to engage the services of a registered plumber. The plumber should be able to find a way to lower the trap and still be able to install the washing machine waste pipe.
I suggest purchasing your cabinet ahead of time and assembling it. This will allow the plumber to make critical measurements that will let them cut at the precise location.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
Eric
