How to connect washing machine drainpipe to undersink fitting?

Hi there,

We are totally stumped with what to do to get our washing machine drain pipe to go into the udnersink fitting. We can shove the pipe into the white pipe as shown in the pictures, but it is not secure and with a small wiggle it just pops straight out. I have watched many washing machine installation videos and it seems like we should have another adaptor piece coming off the white piece we already have that is a kind of nipple shape that the tube can go over? We are just so confused about how we can secure this, if we are missing a piece etc. Please help!!!Image 1Image 1Image 2Image 2Image 3Image 3Image 4: same connection is iamge 3 but just with the cap removedImage 4: same connection is iamge 3 but just with the cap removed

Hello @kieragrayy

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's marvellous to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your washing machine drainpipe.

It appears to be a compression type fitting. Can you please check the cap if it's middle part can be pushed out and removed? If it can, put the washing machine hose through the cap, inside the drain connection is a large black O ring.

Place the O ring over your washing machine hose and then push the hose into the drain. Make sure not to push too far, your goal is to push the hard end of the hose into the drain and screw the cap back on. This will then push the O ring to the sides of the pipe holding it firmly in place. Please give it a try and tell me if it works.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric
