What benchtop should I use DIY or have cut to measurements, that cutting will not edging

Which sort of benchtop can be cut to custom sizes to suit different front edging, wide one end, slim the over as attached?

I was thinking I can purchase a ready-made cabinet and cut the bench to fit.Vanity dimensions.pngVanity front.jpgVanity side length.jpg

Hi @JodieMarwick,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

I've made some enquiries with our benchtop supplier, Kaboodle about whether this kind of irregularly shaped benchtop can be made to order. I can't recall seeing any benchtops come in with an irregular shape like yours, so I'm not sure if they can be ordered or not, but they should be in touch shortly to confirm whether it is possible or not.

If you can cut the shape yourself, they may be able to provide you with the edge band so that the cut edge can be finished in the same way as the rest of the benchtop. Again, I will have to wait to confirm this.

As the main issue with having a cut like this on your benchtop is the edge band, if you were to use a timber benchtop, like this Kaboodle 2400 x 600 x 36mm Hevea Timber Benchtop or Kaboodle 2400 x 600 x 35mm Bamboo Benchtop, then you'd have no issue with an edge band. Again, with this, you'd likely have to cut the benchtop yourself.

Please bear with me while I wait for Kaboodle to get back in touch.

In the meantime, you might like to check out How To Install And Seal A Timber Benchtop and How To Install a Bamboo Benchtop for some guidance on the installation process.

Jacob
