Hi Everyone,i been searching internet for old school shower fittings that connect to bath taps, any advice how track them down,i really want to do complete reno on my bathroom but cant afford it atm, cheers
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @mikey58. It's great to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about installing a shower.
I believe I know the type of setup you’re talking about, where two separate pipes run up from the hot and cold bath taps, then join at a mixing tap before heading up to the shower. That style is really outdated now, and unfortunately, it’s not something that’s used in modern bathroom installations. You might be able to find the fittings in an antique shop, but they’re not commonly stocked anymore. The only spout-connected shower kits available today I'm aware of are designed for a single spout setup, where the water is already mixed from separate hot and cold lines, so they wouldn’t work with your two separate bath tap outlets. At this stage, unless you’re willing to have a plumber run additional in wall piping up to the shower head, there really isn’t an easy way to make this work with more than one spout.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
