How do you find free pallets?

Most Bunnings stores will happily provide you with free pallets whenever they are available. Just speak to one of the helpful team members in the Timber Yard at your local store and they will be able to point you in the right direction. It is wise to give the store a call before visiting to ensure they have supply.

Pallets come in a variety of shapes and sizes. There are your standard 1-metre x 1-metre, a half-sized version and longer types. - MitchellMc

Pallets are available for free at Bunnings. You may have to personally inquire at the service desk as to the current status of pallets at that store as Bunnings often recycle them. Are they free? Yes! Certain pallets are reserved but most of them are free you just need to ask at the store. Will they deliver it? You will have to ask at the store itself and you will have to choose which ones you wish to have delivered. - redracer01

You can also get them free on Gumtree. So many people want to get rid of them for free. They will be in various sizes. - Tamara072

Pallets come in various sizes and there is no fixed standard. The most common sizes range from 1m x 1m to 1.2m x 1.2m. The wider pallet sizes can range from 1.8m to 2.4m in length. Depending on the manufacturer they also have different pailing thickness and base timber height and width.

Reserving pallets at the store is possible. However, I suggest visiting your local store and looking at which ones you want to be put aside. You can even organise delivery to your home if you wish. - EricL

I've often seen pallets discarded on the nature strip at building sites and at veggie markets. It's always best to ask before taking them, though. - MitchellMc

I get free pallets from the local public hospital - they get two types - those that must be returned to the suppliers and those that end up at the tip. - Noyade
