What paint is safe for a baby's cot?

Cot.jpgI’d recommend a hard-wearing finish like Dulux Super Enamel. Alternatively, Dulux Aquanamel is an option that won’t yellow as much overtime as the oil-based version. Like most paints, they release volatile organic compounds whilst curing, so make sure you paint the crib in a well-ventilated area. It’s also important to remember that these products achieve their non-toxic rating after fully curing, so it’s best to paint the cot a few weeks before the baby is placed in it. - MitchellMc

I'm not an expert on this and appreciate your baby's health/safety is paramount so do the research that makes you feel comfortable. My understanding is as long as it's water-based and no VOC you should be fine. Avoid acrylic and oil-based paints. - ProjectPete
