Best plants for shade in winter and full sun in summer in Sydney?

We have a spot on our courtyard that is totally shaded in winter and gets full afternoon sun in summer (due to angle of a sun over a boundary wall). I'd love to have some container plants there, ideally something that flowers but most important hardy enough for these conditions. What would work?
