Hello. I'm needing to change this garden tap that appears to be leaking. The picture shows the water dripping despite the tap being turned off, and I had to even tightly close the tap to achieve minimal to no dripping.
Would prefer to do this myself so any guidance will really be appreciated.
Evening @NorIlyanaK
Most likely a new washer needs to be installed - not a new tap.
Certainly worth trying first.
This short video visually shows how it's done.
Cheers.
Hello @NorIlyanaK
It's great that you've received excellent advice from @Noyade. Just to add to the suggestions made, I recommend using a Craftright 300mm Adjustable Wrench to remove the spindle body from the tap body. My best advice is to make sure that your mains water is turned off before you make any attempt at repairs.
However, should you decide to replace your tap, I recommend looking at the Kinetic 15mm Brass Female Garden Tap - Bunnings Australia.
I also suggest checking out the store's Garden Tap Installation Service, especially if you are looking for a professional to install your garden tap.
Here is a handy guide that will help: How to replace a tap washer (some of the techniques used are applicable to your repair work)
