How to identify potted plant?

My parents got me this plant from Bunnings, but I’m not sure what type it is or what its care requirements are.

Re: unsure of plant type

Hello @jay8991

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your house plant.

You have a sansevieria plant (Mother-in-law's tongue).

Here is a handy link on how to care for it: How To Grow Mother-in-Law's Tongue

My best advice is that watering should be done sparingly, allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings, particularly in winter, and never let the pot sit in standing water, as this plant is prone to root rot. A well-draining potting mix, such as one formulated for cacti and succulents, is ideal to prevent waterlogging.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric
