Hello Bunnings Workshop,
I have a small garden that has 19mm poly retic that is controlled by 1 solenoid and 1 battery powered Hunter Node controller. The water supply is from a branch off our garden tap that has it's own tap (see photo).
The PVC pipe goes to the valve under the paving and from there it's 19mm poly pipe.
The controller has just died and I don't really want to pay over $170 for a replacement for 1 zone. So I was thinking of digging out the value and replacing the valve and controller set up with a tap timer.
I am looking at something like this:

Can I use this with 19mm poly? All the photos I've seen are using 13mm. Also can these be programmed to WA's water schedules?
Hi @ReluctantDYI,
Yes, you can use a tap timer with a 19mm poly pipe. You'd just need a Pope 19mm Nut And Tail - To Suit 20/25mm Garden Tap to connect it. That Nylex tap timer would not be suitable, as you can only set it to a 2, 3, 4-day cycle. So that wouldn't work if, say, you wanted to run it on a Tuesday and then a Thursday. You'd need to go for something like this Holman Automatic Digital Tap Timer, which allows you to select which days of the week you wish it to run on.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
