Name the plant

nametheplant1.jpgHi everyone,

Workshop member @tetris36 has suggested a new game - name that plant.

He's also supplied the first photo for the game. Can you name this plant?

Feel free to also post your pictures in the discussion below for the community to try to identify - whether you know its name or not!.

Good luck,

Jason

Re: Name the plant

Looks like an acacia (wattle) of some kind.

According to my Australian Natives book, it could be Acacia pycnantha - Australia's floral emblem.  Grows to 10m tall, grows fast in well drained soil.  The seeds are edible.  The flowers are very pretty.

Re: Name the plant

Thank you so much @bluebec!

10 metres! It looks like a lovely tree but it's totally in the wrong spot. I will ask them to move it. Wish me luck!

Re: Name the plant

Re: Name the plant

I'm thinking a variegated Hosta called Fire & Ice...

Re: Name the plant

That looks like Rock & Roll alstroemeria (Peruvian Lily).
