Hi! Could someone advise whether I could hang my garden pots (Jack Garden Up / terracotta pots) on this trellis Jack 180x100cm grip and grow wall frame plant trainer - would it be strong enough to hold?
also is there a difference using this pot for vertical garden https://www.bunnings.com.au/jack-garden-up-herb-planter_p2940995 and a this pot https://www.bunnings.com.au/trough-plastic-northcote-60x16cm-rec-graphite-villa-graphite-600mm_p0269...?
thanks!
Hi @zgarden,
Thank you for your question about your vertical garden.
The main difference between the Jack Garden Up Herb Planter and the Northcote 60x16cm Graphite Villa Trough is that the Jack Garden Up planter has a reservoir at the base of the trough. This reservoir holds water that will wick up through the soil and keep the plants watered for longer. The Northcote trough does not have a reservoir, so excess water will drain through the base, meaning it will flow away and cannot be used.
The Jack 180 x 100cm Grip And Grow Wall Frame Plant Trainer is designed to be used as a support structure for climbing plants, rather than as a support for hanging pots. They are made of relatively light steel, which will bend and warp under weight. It may work if you ensure it is well connected to and supported by a structure such as a fence, but I would be more inclined to recommend something a bit more heavy-duty. This Jack 1800 x 1000 x 200 x 7mm Reinforcing Mesh Sheet is much the same thing, with slightly heavier steel, so it would be a better option. I still wouldn't overload it with pots though as they can get heavy when soil and water is added.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks Jacob for your response!
I might get this for my vertical garden instead.https://www.bunnings.com.au/jack-charcoal-3-pot-garden-up-vertical-wall-stacker_p2941541, what would you advise to use to mount this to a brick wall?
Hi @zgarden,
Sounds like a plan.
To hang the Jack Charcoal 3 Pot Garden Up Vertical Wall Stacker from a brick wall, I would use Ramset 6 x 35mm Red Frame Wall Plugs with these 30mm Galvanised Button Head Stitching Timber Screws. One screw in each available hole.
Check out How to hang just about anything for some guidance on their installation in the wall plugs section.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
