how do i turn this space into a garden bed mound?

I’m after some ideas as what I can do with this space for a low maintenance garden. Should I remove the dead tree in the middle? What type of soil/nutrients/mulch is needed, and information on preparing the area prior to planting. 

I would like a garden bed mound, a variety of plants that give height and shape, with shrubs, tall grasses for privacy and wild flowers.

Hi @bm77,

I'd think removing the tree prior to planting would be a good idea. If you get tree removalists to do it for you then you could have it chipped on-site and it used as mulch for the garden.

You might like to have several feature stones/boulders bought in to create some interest to the mound. Our supplier ANL can direct delivery to your home a range of boulders and rocks.

Do you have any idea of what the quality of soil is? If it is poor, once again, we can have ANL deliver a bulk quantity of garden soil to improve it.

For a low maintenance garden, I would suggest going with some Australia natives: Desert flame, Grevillea, Kangaroo paw, Bottlebrush, Australian violet and Everlasting daisy These are just a few examples and we have a wide range of them to choose from.
