replacing pipe

Wanting to upgrade this old pipe I have found in the garden so I can connect it to a tap for watering.

Re: replacing pipe

Hi @andybec,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

Are you aware of where the pipe runs back to? Does it run back to another tap elsewhere in the garden?

If so, then you would likely just need to attach a hose to the fitting, turn the tap on, then turn the dial on the connector on the end of the poly pipe.

If you wanted to use this pipe to feed a tap that you install in this location, then you should be able to use this Brasshards Garden Tap Post to install a tap. We would just need to find a way to adapt the existing pipe so it can be attached to the threaded fitting on the tap post.

Can you advise what the diameter of the poly pipe is? There should be a way using compression and irrigation fittings to adapt it up or down so that it can attach to the tap post.

You would then just need to attach a suitably sized garden tap to the post and you would be able to attach a hose, or whatever other fittings you would like.

Let me know what you think and if you can provide further details, I can certainly assist further.

Jacob
