Mondella Cadenza vege wash non-return valve.

20260111_175649.jpg

I have just remodelled my kitchen and decided to reuse the 2021 model Mondella Credenza vege wash tap. When I reconnected everything the water flow was very low. After rechecking everything I tried removing the non-return valve from the tap. The flow is much better and back to what it used to be.

Do I need the non-return valve? I've never seen one on a tap before and I notice some of the newer Mondella taps don't have them. I must have got some dirt in there somehow and I can't see any way to disassemble it and clean it out.

The non-return valve was connected in the single hose that comes from the tap to the aerator.

Re: Mondella Cadenza vege wash non-return valve.

Hello @Mark3765

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your Mondella Cadenza sink mixer.

I can only suggest what the installation manual recommends and that is to install the non-return valve to the assembly. However, I would like to suggest looking carefully at all the hose fittings. If I recall correctly the non-return valve has a plastic cover/sticker at one end to protect it from dust and debris and must be removed before installation. If the sticker has accidentally been left behind it might be blocking the waterflow. I also suggest testing the non-return valve on another hose if possible. The non-return valve's function is to prevent water from flowing backwards and not reduce water pressure.

If the fault persists, I propose returning the tap to the store where you purchased it from and exchanging it for another unit. Please remember to bring your docket to the store so that the customer service team can track down your sale.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
