Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Roob_429. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about installing a barn door.

Selecting the track hardware and door is quite simple, and that really comes down to your personal preference. Creating the opening in the wall will be a more in-depth process. Have you ever deconstructed a wall and installed new studs in appropriate locations? The first basic steps would be to have the wall assessed to ensure it is not load-bearing and that an opening can be created. Next, check the wall with a stud detector to ensure there is no plumbing or electrical work present. Once checked, you can go ahead and cut out a portion of the wall that suits the size of the door you've chosen. This opening must be slightly smaller than the door size. A reciprocating saw can come in handy for this. Once you have the opening created, you'll need to re-install studs on the sides and top of the opening. These studs allow you to fix the timber trim work and finish the opening. Architraves will then need to be added to either side of the wall to cover the exposed plaster edges.

After establishing the opening you can install your track system and door.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
