I installed decking last year. I want to paint it so it looks consistent and then stain it for glossy look. How can we do it in steps.
cheers
Hi @pav01,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.
Unfortunately, applying both paint and a stain together will not work. This is because paint forms a film that encapsulates the timber and blocks liquids from soaking in, and stains are a liquid that needs to soak into the timber. There is no way around this compatibility issue.
If you are looking to achieve a glossy look, then I'd suggest you use this Feast Watson Wet Look Decking Oil, which will give you the glossy look you are after.
For some guidance on the application process, check out How To Clean a Deck and How To Oil Your Deck.
Let me know what you think and if you have concerns or questions, please let me know so I can assist further.
