How do I fix a window seal?
Hello experts,
I am trying to fix the following window seal. However, I have been struggling to find the matching seal in Bunnings. What could be the alternate solution? I have read about weatherproof silicone seals. Would that be an appropriate solution or Do I need to hire someone?

Re: How do I fix a window seal?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @akarki. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about window seals.
The seal appears to be a rubber gasket used to hold the glass into an aluminium frame. It's a somewhat specialised product and not available within our range of generic weatherseals. You'd likely need to employ the services of a glazier to replace it.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Re: How do I fix a window seal?
Hi Mitchell,
Thank you for that.
For now, Can I apply sealant like Sikaseal 300 on it, as a temporary fix?

Re: How do I fix a window seal?
That would do the job, @akarki. Cut the seal back to where it's inserted correctly, and then fill the gap with Sikaseal. Make sure you mask the window and frame on either side of the gap so that sealant doesn't get all over them. Here's a helpful guide: How to apply silicone sealant.
