How do I seal the outside wooden gaps on my home?

I have recently had a renovation on outside boards of my house the wooden caps on the weather boards are leaking, I need to have something to fill to make waterproof. I would like to paint over this with the exterior paint

Re: How do I seal the outside wooden gaps on my home?

Hi @Heather2,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. Congratulations on the renovation. We'll be keen to see some of your handiwork. Feel free to post anytime you have a project to share with members or need a hand around the house or garden.

Bunnings customers can find and book workshops, garden club, kids D.I.Y. classes and family events at your local store via the Bunnings website

It might help our members to see some photos of the gaps you are dealing with. They would then be able to give more helpful and specific advice. Please let me know if you need a hand uploading some shots.

Thanks,

Jason

Re: How do I seal the outside wooden gaps on my home

Hello @Heather2

Allow me to welcome you as well to the Bunnings Workshop community. There are a number of silicone sealers you can use on your wooden caps to waterproof them or at least prevent leaks. But it would definitely give our members a better idea if we can see what you are trying to repair. If you can post a few photos of the wooden caps, we'll be able to offer suggestions on how to seal them.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric

Hi Eric

I visited your store and purchased Selleys All Clear Co-Polymer Sealant and put this on

the whole area as said can be put on Glass , Wood etc, so hoping this will do the trick

Thanks Heather
