How to build a removable wind break for narrow yard?

Hi, have an area of side of house about 2/3 meters wide from fence to wall is an easement for sewer etc and cannot have a permanent structure , but it is a wind tunnel and have bonsai  plants  which i want to protect , can the steel temporay fence panels with mesh  cloth attached stand up to strong wind , if using the cement filled support feet ?

Re: Set Up a removable wind break in narrow part of yard that is aneasement but is a wind tunnel

Hi @VeraF595,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

If you are referring to these RapidMesh 240 x 210cm Galvanised Steel Temp Fence Panel with Concrete Filled Fence Bases, then they stand up relatively well to wind when they are set up correctly.

You'll want to add some RapidMesh 1900 x 770 x 60mm Galvanised Steel Temp Fence Stays with additional concrete-filled bases. They will act like an outrigger, spreading out the weight of the fence, which will create far greater stability.

You'll also want to have them solidly connected with 2 x RapidMesh Galvanised Steel Temporary Fence Clamps at each connection.

If they are set up with the right accessories, unless you have a significant weather event, then you should be fine. If you were to have a significant weather event, then it would be a good idea to take the fences down and store them in a safe area.

Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Re: Set Up a removable wind break in narrow part of yard that is an easement but is a wind tunnel

Hello @VeraF595,

I suggest Pine poles, PVC stormwater pipe, Concrete mix and shade mesh.

75mm Poles

90mm Stormwater.

Concrete mix.

Shade mesh.

That would also be useful.

Basically the pine poles sit in the PVC pipe and the shade mesh is attached.

To make it all disappear lift out the poles and roll it all up.

Come back for more info...

Cheers
