Does anyone know how to undo this tap to replace the washer please?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @archer9. It's brilliant to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about replacing a tap washer.
The valve in that tap can be accessed by first removing the handle on top. The handle is held in place by the nut in the middle, so you’ll likely need a socket set to loosen and remove it. Once the handle is off, you’ll find another nut underneath that secures the spindle section. Undoing that nut will allow you to remove the spindle and access the valve.
Just keep in mind that there’s a good chance this is a ball valve tap, which often doesn’t have any serviceable internal parts. These types of taps generally last much longer than standard washer-style taps, but if it does turn out to be a ball valve, you’ll probably need to replace the entire tap rather than just the washer.
If you’d like a tap that can be serviced in the future, you can simply swap it for a standard garden tap with a replaceable washer and valve, or fit another ball valve tap if you prefer the same style.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
