How to enclose space between patio support posts?

IMG_0133.jpgIMG_0134.jpg

we have an outdoor patio area supported by steel support posts and will be putting  commercial grade electric tracked blinds betwen the posts. However there are two sets of twin steel support posts 600mm apart and 2800mm high .The space between needs to be enclosed with something (cladding /weatherboards ?)

looking for suggestions on what to use and how to enclose the gaps. Needs to look good as will be permanent.

Im fairly handy so will attempt myself.

Thanks in advance for your ideas and suggestions

Re: Enclosing space betwen patio support posts

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @skardon. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about enclosing space between posts.

If space allows, I think the best option would be to enclose the twin steel posts within a timber frame and then clad over it—something like weatherboards or vertical cladding would work well. That way, the posts are completely hidden, and the finished result will look more intentional and cohesive with the blinds you're installing, rather than like a workaround. It’s a bit of extra effort, but it will really lift the look and feel like it was designed that way from the start.

Something along the lines of what @emmajames did with their Hamptons-style verandah posts.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
