How to fill cracks and remove water stains on timber plant stand?

I bought a second hand wooden plant stand. It has cracks on each shelf. What’s the best way to fill the cracks? Also, is there a way so remove the water stains? Is there a product I can use to protect the wood from outdoor weather? Thank you in advance for your help.

Re: How to fill cracks and remove water stains on timber plant stand?

Hello @dreeped

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your plant stand.

I propose using Polyfilla 450g Exterior Timber Filler in combination with Pro Renovator 50mm Plastic Scraper. I then suggest sanding the entire plant stand back to timber and painting it with Bondall 500ml Gloss Monocel Gold Marine Clear Timber Varnish - 500ml. The sanding will remove the water marks, and the new seal will give your plant stand a fresh new look.

My best advice is to use pot saucers to catch any overflowing water from the potted plants.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
