The corner of the foundation is crumbling away with some cracks in the bricks. Is this something I can repair myself or is this more serious and require a professional. Please help
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @tgibson. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about repairing bricks.
There does appear to be several bricks with significant cracks in them. From the images, it doesn’t look like the foundation has obviously subsided, although that can be difficult to confirm without an on-site inspection. The fact that these cracks are concentrated in the same area, and in bricks directly above the foundation, does point more towards a potential structural issue rather than just a single damaged brick that could be patched for appearance. The safest option would be to have the area assessed by a professional who can determine whether the damage is superficial or related to the building’s structure. For this kind of work, you could contact a structural engineer, a building inspector, or a qualified bricklayer experienced in structural repairs. They’ll be able to advise whether the foundation itself needs attention or if it’s a localised repair.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
