I need to spend some time fixing my old wooden timber frames, and am wondering what the best products to use are, and the process is
Hello @Davofit
I propose sanding down the window timber frames and using Earl's 250ml Wood Hardener on the soft sections or those parts that have signs of rot in them. I recommend removing all the rotted sections before using the spray. Once the timber has regained its stiffness, I suggest using Turbo 500ml Builder's Bog to fill in any section that has rotted away. My best advice is to shape the bog as close as possible to the window frame and do not overfill the broken sections. By keeping the bog low there will less of it to sand away when it cures.
Please remember that working around glass is dangerous and an accidental hit on its surface can make it shatter and cause injury. Please take extreme care when working around glass.
Please remember to wear personal protection such as gloves, goggles and a mask when working on your project.
