I have painted timber gates that are prone to wood rot, particularly in the lower areas. I have treated and repaired them for the second time but rather than just repaint I'm wondering if I could waterproof them first? If so, what product would you recommend for this purpose please?
Hi @BarryD,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.
I'd suggest using this Crommelin Flat Aquablock Waterproof Primer Undercoat followed by 2-3 coats of your chosen exterior paint.
While the paint will do most of the work, the primer will add another protective layer for some extra peace of mind.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Jacob
