Hello fellow DIYos
I wanted some tips , ideas on installing a side gate next to fence on a round post ?
Measurments are 140cm wide with 125 cm Length.
I can not weld. But have metal drill bits to secure with bolts and screw.
I think the old screw is from previous welded gate. Its very heavy round post tho. I like your idea and i think this will be more straight forward and long lasting too. Thank you so much. Yes the fence flat post is welded onto round post but enough space to screw a bolt.
Must say : you drawing skills are great. Thanks
Good Afternoon @jzb02
I find that gates hanging from posts, even well secured ones will tend to move over time. So a note of caution. Is it possible to mount the gate on the side away from the fence?
I have had to trim my gate down due to the fence shifting with time, So far I have lost about 10mm. That is becaus ethe fenbce has a lean towards the gate for me. If you hang a gate off your post it will want to flex the fence inwards.

Please post photos of the gate.
