How to remove rust coming through filler?
Hi I had some bolts attached to a wall which we were unable to remove so I cut them flush with the wall and used Poly Exterior Powder Filler to fill in any holes and smooth over the remaining bolt. It looks like some of the bolts are beginning to rust through the filler. Do I need to remove the filler and treat the bolts with something or would a primer paint cover the rust and stop it showing through once I paint the house? Thanks

Re: How to remove rust coming through filler?
Hi @nila,
You could either remove the filler and treat the bolts with a rust converter or priming over the area with a couple of coats of a stain blocker such as Zinsser 369g Bright White Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Undercoat Primer And Sealer Spray would likely block the rust from coming through.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
