How to remove soil stains on concrete tiles?

Hi guys

i did replace some turf parts in my backyard but then some yellow tiles appeared on my tiles (concrete based) and they were not removed by the karcher. Would you know a product efficient for this which would not damage my tiles ?

Re: How to remove soil stains on concrete tiles?

Hello @oli2038

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about the soil on your concrete tiles.

It appears that the soil has penetrated the pores of the concrete tiles and has embedded itself onto the surface. I propose using a steamer to soften the soil first then use a VAX Platinum Spot Wash Spot Cleaner VACSC21E or similar to suck the soil out of the surface of the concrete tile. Chemical cleaners will not work in this situation as the soil is stuck inside the tile itself. It must be removed by suction to remove it from the pores of the tile. It might take several applications to completely remove the soil, but with persistence and patience it will come out through the surface.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric

Re: How to remove soil stains on concrete tiles?

Hi @oli2038,

Yes, it is possible they are rust stains.

I would give some CLR Calcium Lime Rust Remover with a Scrub Brush a try.

Start with an over-diluted mix and test it in an inconspicuous area. If you are happy that no damage will occur, move to the more noticeable areas.

Apply the mix, allow it to sit for 2-3 minutes, then give it a scrub.

If you don't see any results, dilute less, ensuring you don't exceed the ratio recommended on the packaging.

Give this a try and let me know how you go.

Re: How to remove soil stains on concrete tiles?

Hi @oli2038,

Yes, unfortunately, it is mildly acidic, which would not be great with limestone. Please disregard my previous advice. Apologies for that.

You would be much better off using an alkaline cleaner such as this Lithofin RustEx 500ml , which is available from our friends at Beaumont Tiles.

Let me know what you think.
