Sliding Gates and Advice

Hello Community Members,

One of our next projects as family will be a sliding gate that will divide the front and a rear section for privacy.

I will be welding and spray painting my own frames and lining it with timber.

The part I have hardly any experience on and honestly I remember helping about 10 years ago was a sliding gate.

If any of the community members have any advice or can point me to the correct hardware in Bunnings that I will need eg slider, runners ECT.

I'm looking at a 3.9Lm long sliding gate.

Any advice would be appreciated.

And to all the community have a great weekend and enjoy your DIY projects.

Kind regards Rob 👍

Re: Sliding Gates and Installation

I think the main points are.
Sliders to be level and parallel.
Gear track to be level and at correct height for the motor.
Motor base to be solidly mounted.
I guess you get to test your concreting skills along with welding and spray painting.
