What depth to dig front verge for filling with Tuscan rocks?

I want to cover the front verge with small Tuscan rocks. Looking for information on recommended depth I should dig to.

Thank you.

Re: What depth to dig front verge for filling with Tuscan rocks?

Hello @Trouper66

Thank you for sharing your question about putting Tuscan rocks on your front verge.

If you are using the Tuscan Path 15kg 20 - 40mm Natural Mix Pebbles, I suggest digging a minimum of 50mm in depth. This will prevent the pebbles from being bumped out of the verge due to people casually walking over them. I recommend placing the Saxon 0.915 x 5m Prepacked Weed Control Mat at the bottom to prevent weed from growing between your pebbles. This will also stop your pebbles from settling too deep in the soil.

Overfilling the verge with pebbles is not recommended as it will just get kicked out and get thrown in the gutter. Use your rake or shovel to gently stamp the pebbles flat to wedge them in place. We would love to see any updates you can provide.

Let me tag our experienced member @Adam_W for his recommendation.
