How to fix chipped front door & threshold?

Hi Everyone,

Looking for some advice on hopefully fixing the both inside and outside of front door and threshold - currently a novice with DIY and looking for any recommendations / tips / instructions.

Thanks

Re: How to fix chipped front door & threshold

Hello @ShaneGty

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your chipped door.

For light to medium chips, I often suggest using Parfix 1kg Ready To Use Multipurpose Filler in combination with a Pro Renovator 50mm Plastic Scraper. Once the filler dries up you can sand it down to the same level as the door. If the chip is not so large you have the option of just touching up the surface with paint. However. if it's quite large and noticeable then I would suggest repainting the whole door.

Here is a handy step-by-step guide: How To Paint A Door

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Thanks Eric.

For threshold - assume this should just be sanded down to remove paint and then repainted? Or is anything else required?

Re: How to fix chipped front door & threshold

Hello @ShaneGty

In regards to the threshold, I suggest sanding it down as well and repainting it. I also recommend adding an extra layer of paint for extra protection of the threshold surface.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
