Re: Fixing a dent on a plaster board and match paint

Hi @Wanderer25,

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

If you wanted assistance with this repair, I would suggest looking for a handy person HiPages or Airtasker.

If you'd like to give it a go yourself, it isn't particularly difficult, and I'd be happy to guide you through the process.

Start by using a utility knife to cut and remove a section of paint around the size of a 50c piece. This can be taken in-store and paint-matched at the Paint Desk. Don't worry about the damage, it will get fixed up after as part of the repair. Make sure you are wearing gloves and a long-sleeve work shirt when using a utility knife to reduce the risk of lacerations.

When you head in-store, grab some Selleys Spakfilla Rapid Gap Filler, a sanding sponge, some primer, a paintbrush and your colour-matched paint.

Use the sanding sponge to give the dent and the patch you've removed a sand, then wipe the wall with a cloth to remove any dust. You can then apply the Spakfilla to the dent using the provided spatula. Allow the Spakfilla to dry, then give it a sand with the sanding sponge to smooth it in preparation for priming and painting.

Apply a thin coat of primer, allow it to dry, then apply 2 coats of your paint allowing them to dry in between,.

Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Jacob
