Hey LePallet, that’s a nice looking unit. Could you educate me as to what “messmate” means? Cheers Deb
Hey Deb @Mathy,
Just a quick little Workshop tip for you.
If you are asking another member a question, try typing the @ symbol and then their username. Like this @LePallet. Then the member will be alerted to your post and more likely to give you a prompt reply.
Thanks,
Jason
Yes hi @Mathy
Messmate is otherwise known as Eucalyptus obliqua and is often grouped with Tasmanian Oak and Victorian Ash at the timber yard. ... The colour of the Messmate timberranges from a pale brown to light yellow with a hint of peach. It’s a Harwood which is very solid and very strong if glued up right.
Thanks @Jason - that’s the first “@“ I’ve missed in ?How Many Posts??
Thanks @LePallet for the explanation about Messmate, much appreciated, cheers 🙂
Ah, so sorry Deb (@Mathy) - you're all over it. 🙂
Good stuff. Please let me know if you ever need anything.
@LePallet This shelf looks great.
Where did you source the timber and brackets from?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Jenleigh. It's amazing to have you join us and many thanks for your question.
Hopefully, @LePallet can answer your question about their project.
I've had a look myself and believe you could achieve something similar using a Flexi Storage 600 x 200 x 16mm Oak Shelf and Flexi Storage 200mm Matt Black Left And Right Timber Shelf End Brackets.
Please keep us updated on your project, and we look forward to seeing your results.
