How to hang 800x2000 doors?

How skilled do you need to be to hang a door someone said once that it's actually harder than it looks? And is 800x2000 a standard door size?

Hello @rhi8084

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about hanging your doors.

If you've done a bit of carpentry and have experience with using timber tools you should be able to hang a door. One of the most important aspects of hanging a door is making sure that the hinges are properly installed and that the door square to the frame. I propose using either plastic wedges or a Trojan 4pce Wedge Set. This will help you position the door at the right height and angle. Having a second set of hands on the day of the installation will definitely help.

I also suggest checking out the store's Door Installation Service, especially if you are looking for a professional to install your door.

Here is a handy step-by-step guide: How To Hang A Door

Please make sure to wear personal protection such as gloves, goggles and a mask.

Re: i need to buy two doors 800x2000

Hi @rhi8084  just to add that 800x2000 is not a standard size, the closest to that size is 820x2040 and can usually only be trimmed down by 3mm on each side.

I've also found that these air bags from Bunnings are handy for fitting doors too, they can be inflated by stepping on the balloon to lift the door, saves crouching down and adjusting wedges. We've used them a few times now for taking doors off to paint and then reattaching later.
