Can you cut a Kinetic breech plug and cap?

Hi, just wondering if anyone knows if this cap can be cut down to fit shorter threads .

Hi @kayoparata it shouldn't need to, but if your finding for some reason that water is leaking from the thread when the cap is done up tight, then wrap several turns clockwise of teflon tape on the thread.

I thanks for that , the plug seems to big to fit onto my thread as the thread is so short and the part to screw in on the plug cap is all the way down at the bottom so the short thread doesnt reach the screw part . I was thinking I could cut down the plug as shown in the picture so it could screw onto my short thread

Hello @kayoparata 

 

That's spot-on advice coming from @Nailbag. Please keep in mind that the breech plug is for temporary use only and if you need to permanently plug a water source your plumber must do it for you.
