How to improve lighting in kitchen?

We have very little light into our kitchen which we believe could be improved with an external glass door in the laundry. What would you recommendation be.

Adding an external glass door to your laundry can indeed be an excellent way to enhance natural light flow into the kitchen if the rooms are interconnected and open-plan. Will much sunlight filter through? Even if it didn't, it would still improve the feeling of openness. Have you considered adding a skylight? If there are issues with installing a skylight, have you seen these Hybrid Skylights? They do quite a good job of mimicking sunlight and could be a great solution to illuminating your kitchen. 

So our members can better understand your space and offer more specific recommendations, it would be helpful to have a visual understanding of the area. Could you please provide some images of the laundry, the kitchen and indicate where this door would go? Let me know if you need a hand uploading images.
