How to prime Estilo sensor soap dispenser

Dilute your hand wash down with water.

Estilo 350ml Sensor Soap Dispenser
I had trouble getting the pump to prime.  Ended up, emptying all the soap out of the tank and filling it with just water.  After about 20 swipes under the sensor, I started to get a bit of soap coming out.   I was using Dettol hand wash which is designed for the Dettol No-Touch pump.   Finally, I thinned the hand wash down with about 3/4 water, now I get a lovely foam coming out of the Estilo dispenser.

Re: How to prime Estilo sensor soap dispenser

Hi @EricL I have been using this sensor soap dispenser with the watered down soap and recently it stopped working. The lights come on I can hear the motor and the sensor click but no soap comes out... Any ideas on what the problem might be? I changed the batteries twice so that isn't the problem, I've cleaned out the tube and the spout still lights come on but no soap comes out, it's driving me nuts! I've only been using it for 2-3 months & it was working so well... And of course there's no help in the booklet that comes with the unit! 😕

Re: How to prime Estilo sensor soap dispenser

Hello @clarehoo

Thanks for sharing your question about your soap dispenser. I propose giving your soap dispenser a thorough clean, wash out the container bottle until it is free of soap. Run warm water through the soap pipe until it is free of soap residue. It's possible that the unit has developed soap scum inside the mechanism that is causing the soap to flow improperly.

I suggest Mixing half a cup of vinegar and half a cup of water plus a few drops of liquid soap. Mix this inside the soap dispenser body and assemble the soap dispenser. Activate the dispenser until you hear the motor pumping the mix through its system. Run it continuously until the vinegar mix comes out of the dispenser. Keep running until the mixture is all used up. Wash the soap dispenser again and fill with ordinary warm water (not hot). Run the soap dispenser until the water comes out. Do this for several minutes to wash out the vinegar mix from the dispenser.

It's very important to make sure that the soap mix is designed for foam dispensing units. Also known as foaming liquid handwash. Watered down soap will only clog the mechanism.

Should the unit fail to work even after the cleaning and cleansing, I suggest taking your docket and bringing it back to the store where you purchased it from and exchanging it.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Re: How to prime Estilo sensor soap dispenser

Thanks @EricL I have washed out the unit and removed the tube that the soap goes through and run warm water through it and also cleaned the spout where the foam soap is dispensed but neither of these resulted in any change and the unit isn't taking anything up to dispense so I don't think the vinegar mix will even go through it's like there's not enough power in the unit to pump soap despite new batteries being inserted and working fine two days ago.

Regarding the soap mix the instructions that come with the unit says to use a watered down soap mix so I didn't think purchasing foaming soap was necessary. If it is necessary then the manufacturer should be stipulating this in the literature. It's disappointing that there's no way to contact Estilo - no website or any actual details available on the company at all (redirects Australian website to Hallett Group a building materials company otherwise it's over to India for sales no support there either) nor is there any troubleshooting information in the user manual beyond suggesting the batteries have been incorrectly inserted. Sorry that's not your problem! So I guess it's going back to the store for a  replacement but I have no idea where I put the receipt! Is a receipt necessary to get a replacement of a faulty product? Thanks

Re: How to prime Estilo sensor soap dispenser

Hello @clarehoo

If you used your card to pay for the unit you could use your bank statement to show when you paid for the product. Otherwise, I suggest bringing the product back to the store where you purchased it from and speak to the customer service team. If you can recall the time and date of your purchase, they might be able to track down your docket.

If you mention that it is only a few months old, it is technically still under warranty. Please make sure to bring your driver's license or a valid I.D. so that the team can process the exchange.

If you need assistance with the exchange, please let me know.

Re: How to prime Estilo sensor soap dispenser

I have been through 3 of these dispensers.  They all stop working after a few months.
Got a full refund and purchased a manual dispenser.
