Just did regrouting in shower floor - Did I do correctly?

Hello Everyone,

Needed to replace the grout in the shower base and removed old grout and applied 1) Davco Light Grey Sanitized® Colorgrout
2)Davco 1L 4 In 1 Grout Additive as per the instructions.

Left it to dry for a week but the new grout does not feel smooth (as old grout), it feels gritty & grainy but hard enough (not crumbling, no powder coming off, no dents if I press).
By looking at the pictures can someone advise please, should I redo or may be apply Davco Rejuvenation grout on top of itIMG_4405.jpegIMG_4402.jpegIMG_4404.jpegIMG_4399.jpegIMG_4400.jpegIMG_4401.jpegIMG_4403.jpeg?

Hi @ppp,

There is no need for any additional grout, and you should be proud of what you have done; it honestly looks fantastic. It looks exactly how I would expect fresh grout to look.

There's a good chance the difference in the feel is because your old grout had a sealer on it.

I would suggest you apply a coat of Davco Sanitized Tile And Grout Sealer to your grout. It will help to keep your grout looking cleaner, fresher and brand new for longer and will more than likely make it feel closer to how your old grout did.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Jacob
