hello
i would like to fix the appearance of this windowsill in my bathroom - I think the previous owners tried to but it looks awful. How can I get it right this time? What tools will I need?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @lb1010. It's splendid to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about repairing a window sill.
From the photo, it looks like the painted area meeting the windowsill is raised and bulging, which could indicate some underlying damage. There also seems to be debris caught in the track, which can be cleaned out with basic cleaning tools. For the bulging section, you’ll likely need a scraper to remove the paint and any damaged material underneath so you can see exactly what’s going on. Once exposed, sand it down so it’s flush with the rest of the sill, refill any gaps with a suitable filler, then sand smooth and repaint. If you can provide a bit more detail about what specifically you want to fix, our members can give more targeted advice on tools and materials.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
