A new timber benchtop, PVC splashback and Dulux Renovation Range paint helped transform a laundry for just $1000.
We transformed our laundry on a budget of $1000 for DIY July. Our laundry was in pretty good shape, it just needed a facelift.
Demolition: Remove splash back, bench top and cupboard doors.
Demo
Remove door handles, fill holes with Spakfilla and allow to dry. Once dry sand to a smooth surface. Continue to lightly sand the surfaces of the cupboard doors using sandpaper.

Vacuum any loose dust and then clean doors with a microfibre cloth and Selley's Sugar Soap.
Paint doors following the instructions on the Dulux Renovation Range tin.

Benchtop: Replace benchtop and cut hole for the sink. To keep costs low we didn't change any of the sink plumbing. We used Specrite timber which we had cut to length at Bunnings, and sealed it with Cabot's Satin Clear Benchtop Timber Finish Paint.
Back splash: We patched the holes in the splashback and waterproofed the area using Dunlop Express Wet Area Waterproofing. We then cut and applied Quick Boards Antique White PVC for the splash back.
Finally, we replaced the door handles and styled.
