Kaboodle cabinets, Specrite Acacia timber, and Easycraft VJ panels were used to transform a kitchen into a more functional space in a Queenslander home.
We decided to renovate our Queenslander kitchen to create a more workable space and a more aesthetic modern look.
Pictured is one corner of the kitchen. Behind the top wooden beam was originally a large bulk head which we knocked down. We added Bunnings VJ sheeting to the back wall to match the original VJ boards around the rest of the house. Bunnings Kaboodle cupboards were used - easy to install - and the benchtops are Bunnings wooden slabs. We chose the simple black Bunnings handles to suit the rustic aesthetic of the kitchen.
Install Kaboodle base cabinet and adjust feet to required height.
Measure, cut and fit wooden multi-function table tops (join corners at a 45 degree angle). We also cut pieces from the same slab to use as a small splash back. Then add on cupboard doors and kickboards.
Add benchtop food-grade satin timber finish to wooden slabs, using a paint brush or roller. Drill holes and add handles to cupboard doors.

I love your kitchen. The specrite golden teak acacia panel comes preoiled. What were the steps you use when applying the Cabot's benchtop satin timber finish?
