Garage door switch not working

Hi all,

The garage switch is not working. I attached a snapshot of the switch, The remote control is fine and can open and close the door easily. Any idea what is wrong with it? Is there any kind of battery in it need to be changed?

Thanks

Re: Garage door switch not working

Hi there Pangol,

Does the small LED light up when you press the top switch?

The reason for the switches not working could either be a faulty switch unit or a broken wire in behind the switches themselves.

I'd probably err on the side of caution with something like this and have a qualified electrician look at it.

I could be wrong but I think them switches have 230V on them.

Let us know how you get on.

Cheers.

Re: Garage door switch not working

Hi @Pangol

Excellent advice from @MikeTNZ, I totally agree with the recommendation and suggest getting a registered electrician to have a look at it. If your electrician suggests getting a new switch, the model number is often located at the back of the old unit. For example, it will say Merlin E128M, but always check with your electrician before purchasing a new switch.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.
