How to remove cork board wall?

We are trying to get to the windows behind this very thick cork board -

Why the previous owners did this lord knows,

We have found that the window is across a wall, for some reason - I am looking for advice if possible for 3 things

1. What tool is best getting this cork off, all the screws are stuffed.

2. If the window is cut in half by this wall, there's surely no way the wall is structural right?? Which tradesperson would be the right person to get that formally looked at it's a 1906 ( 1960 raised ) qlder downstairs garage.

3. Options if can't remove wall to give light to this room, and the room behind it the wall cuts...

Thanks in advance!

Re: Wall Removal Tips

Hello @Nadjrose

Before you go any further, I suggest having the wall tested for asbestos. If the results are positive, you'll need to engage the services of an asbestos removal specialist. If the test is negative, you can continue your demolition of the wall cover. If the wall is no longer to be reused, I suggest using a Craftright 380mm Wrecking Bar in combination with a XU1 710W Reciprocating Saw. My best advice is to cut only the wall covering, do not cut the stud frame behind it. Once you create an opening for the wrecking bar you should be able to demolish the cover with just that tool.

I don't wish to make any assumptions in regards to that wall covering and its purpose. But if you wish to have it inspected a standard qualified builder should be able to tell you if the wall is actually supporting something. If you wish to use the window again this would be the perfect time to ask the builder while they are there in your home. They'll be able to tell you what needs to be done if the wall covering can't be removed.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
