What screws can be used with Ryobi Link panels?

I received a couple of Ryobi link panels as a gift however cannot find the including mounting screws. Can someone please suggest which kind of screws to use for brick/masonry to fit in the panel and the green plugs?

Re: Ryobi Link Screws

It’s a bit tricky for us to pinpoint exactly which screws are missing from the Ryobi link panel kits @donmattdon, as Ryobi doesn’t have the exact specifications for the mounting screws. For attaching the panels to brick or masonry, a masonry installation kit like the STAHL kits would work well, and you may want to use a washer under the screw head to stop it pulling through the panel’s mounting holes.

For the green brackets, we really would need to know the exact screw size to recommend something suitable. The easiest way to get the correct screws is to contact your local Bunnings store’s special orders team. They can put you in touch with our Spare Parts team to see if the original screws are available. Alternatively, you could visit your local store and compare the screws in their kits to match them up with the ones in the builders’ hardware section.

If the panels were a gift and came from Bunnings, another straightforward option is to take proof of purchase to your nearest store and explain that parts were missing. They should be able to swap the panels or provide the missing screws so you can be sure you’re using the correct original fittings. This is usually the most reliable and safest way to proceed.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Re: Ryobi Link Screws

Hi @donmattdon

I have installed many Link systems and do all the local pre-testing of the product for the Aust market. The panels don't actually come with fasters to suit masonry/brick walls. Though you can use green wall plugs, I prefer these ones from Ramset.

The most important point is in the pre-planning of the panels so that you can get as many of the fastening holes into the brick as possible. If you intend to to hang heavier items, go for 6 fastening points. This may require you to drill a couple of holes in the top and/or bottom depressed rails.

This video I produced shows the exact steps using green wall plus and all the tools etc you need. Regardless of which fastener type you use, its very important to use the recommended sized masonry drill bit. Otherwise the fastener will need grab to its full strength if at all.

Once installed, the next point is to use the small screws that should be supplied with hooks. These stop the hooks from dislodging when lifting heavy objects/on/off.
