Hi
I have bought a Lockwood 001 Double Cylinder Deadlatch for an outward opening door. The door that I need to replace the lock on is inward opening.
Is there a way to convert the lock mechanism to use with an inward opening door?
I do not want to buy another lock.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Walcott. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about deadlatches.
Would you be able to link us to the product you've purchased so we can check the instructions? Deadlatches are manufactured specifically for inwards or outwards opening doors, and they typically are not universal and cannot be converted.
You'll find that just about all deadbolts on the shelf are for inward-opening doors with the key lock on the outside of them. It sounds like you have an outward-opening door (the actual door opens outward) and a standard lock for a door that opens into the home. You'd likely need to return the current lock and Special Order in the correct one.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
